Uva Rara

Uva rara is a red wine grape variety grown in southern Lombardy, in the northwest of Italy, best known for its use in the red wines of the Oltrepo Pavese, where it constitutes the major part of the standard DOC red wines. Also known as Bonarda Novarese in northwest Piedmont, where it can be found blended with the noble Nebbiolo.
