First and foremost, Winemonger is a wine importer.
Many of our wines are offered by the best restaurants in the United States. Ranging from the fantastic hole-in-the-wall eatery you have never heard of, to Le Bernardin in New York or the inimitable Slanted Door Restaurant in San Francisco, we are proud to count America's top culinary establishments among our best customers.
Like the Burgunder-family of grapes, the Traminer clan is also fond of mutation. According to France's Institute National des Appellations d'Origine, there are three clearly differentiated types: Roter Traminer, Gelber Traminer and Gewurztraminer. Roter Traminer, which one encounters in Steiermark as well as occasionally in Burgenland, is darker of color though not so vividly aromatic as the spicier and purple-ish Gewurztraminer, although has more olfactory impact than the Gelber Traminer. It has a pink to brown colored skin and gives spicy aromas with hints of roses.
