Umathum Rosa Rose 2017
A serious rose from Austria's three main varieties Blaufrankisch, Sankt Laurent and Zweigelt. The grapes grow on gravel and shist soils in Frauenkirchen and Jois on vines tat are up to 43 years old. Manual harvest in September and October is followed by a cold soak and a bleed-off ("saignee") of the juice that gets to ferment and evolve in steel tank.
The Rosa is an ideal aperitif wine but also goes well with salad, fish and seafood or with cheese. It is also a wine that matures beautifully. This is no simple summer sipper and some might say they even prefer it with a bit of time in the bottle.
