Pigato is an evolution of the Vermentino found mostly in Genoa, Imperia and Savona. Its color is straw-yellow with golden highlights. Pigato displays aromatics of ripe peach overtoned with field-flowers and herbs—then falls rich and pleasant upon the palate. It is considered to be the same as Vermentino in many databases, and in others is defined as being a "bio" Vermentino.
