Rosi Schuster Rotburger 2019
$ 22.50
A fresh and vibrant take on Rotburger, a variety that shows the best side of both it's parent grapes: St.Laurent and Blaufrankisch. While it is perhaps still more commonly known as Zweigelt, both Hannes Schuster and we here at Winemonger, prefer to call the grape by its original name, Rotburger, because the man who crossed the two grapes, Dr. Zweigelt, was a Nazi. We don't encourage celebrating Nazi's.
Harvested from organically farmed vines grown in sandy loam with clay from Ried Klausen, which lies between St Margarethen and the lake. Maturation for 8 months in old 3000-liter barrels. Bright blue fruits with Schuster's signature minerality and drinkability.
