Champagne Chapuy Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut Reserve
A Grand Cru Blanc des Blancs from Oger, in Cote des Blancs. Grown in chalky, limestone soils ("white fruit" and mineral) under an alluvial layer (which long ago was a swamp). Fermented in stainless steel tanks. Partial ML then blocked to maintain its freshness. Base harvest 2017; blended w 57% Reserve wine. Dosage 6 g/l, disgorged 1/20.
Pale gold colour with silvery glints. The bubbles are fine and vibrant.
From the glass come out very gourmand pastry aromas (brioche, butter). There are also delicate aromas of ripe stone fruits, such as vine peach, and also grapefruit.
The first impression is intense. The fruity notes found on the nose are sublimated in the palate. Creamy bubbles give Champagne a delightful touch.
