Taschlerhof

Founded in 2000, Weingut Taschlerhof is a 3.8 ha. estate situated in the Alpine town of Brixen, which is situated in the Südtirol/Alto Adige wine region in northern Italy just south of the Austrian border. Winemaker/owner Peter Wachtler farms his vineyards organically and practices artisanal methods of cultivation, including careful Guyot pruning. He works with clonal selections Sylvaner, Kerner, Riesling, and Gewürztraminer and produces only monocepage, white wines. The Taschlerhof vines are planted on steeply sloped and terraced vineyards that lie at altitudes averaging 500 meters above sea level. Wachtler employs minimal intervention in his vinification and produces about 3000 cases per year.
