A new wine for Robert & Marianne from a historically significant variety, Furmint. They planted a small amount of Furmint in 2016 in their vineyard on the Rusterberg in weathered soil over primary slate-granite that is known for creating elegant mineral laden wines. They farm it biodynamically by hand using a backpack sprayer for the special herbal preparations. They say working this way is not only right for the planet but lets them be more connected with their land. 2020 was the first real harvested with few grapes per plant and they only made 300l of the wine. It was pressed and then aged in an amphora for 6 months before matured for 12 months in one Stockinger barrel. Dry, rich, elegant, golden fruited with a spicy savory finish.
