Roccheviberti Dolcetto d' Alba DOC Vigna Melera 2015
Bricco Boschis is a vineyard of significantly larger surface area, with Western exposition and an altitude ranging between 200-300 meters above sea level.
Compared to Rocche di Castiglione (the other single vineyard Roccheviberti produces...), the soil here is much richer in clay, resulting in Barolos with more intense color, bigger structure and pronounced tannins, all of which contributes to the wine's longevity. Roccheviberti has several different parcels within the Bricco Boschis vineyard: in the highest part are plantings of Nebbiolo for Barolo and a small single block (“Vigna Maleraâ€) of the Dolcetto varietal, utilized for the Dolcetto d'Alba DOC label. The result is a Dolcetto of deeper color and structure compared to the average that can gain great complexity with some short cellaring
