This biodynamically farmed blend of Roter (Red) Traminer and Gelber (Yellow) Traminer comes from 40+ year old vines from 2 estate vineyards of sand and loam near Lake Neusiedlersee. Traminer is one of the oldest known grapes and this is an elegant version of the noble variety. Meticulous farming, hand harvesting and minimal intervention in the cellar, results in the perfect combination of the honey and white flower attributes of Gelber Traminer and the spice and floral aromatic rose petal notes of thicker skinned Roter Traminer. Traditional short skin fermentation takes place to extract all the potential flavor of the variety before pressing. The wine finishes fermentation and ages in old Austrian wooden casks. The resulting wine is dry and highly aromatic with a honeyed fruitiness and enough acidity to be drunk alone or to complement spiced dishes.
