Cobelli is located in Sorni di Lavis an historic grape growing area since the time of the Romans. It sits on the slopes of Monte Corona in the Southern Trentino region of the Alto Adige. The 150 year old, 5 hectare estate is farmed organically by 3 brothers and their families. What is unique about Sorni di Lavis, in addition to its excellent exposition and altitude, is the unique vein of chalk that runs through the soil here and the "Ora del Garda"-- a Mediterranean influenced wind that moderates the temperature allowing for a perfect ripening of the grapes with balanced sugar and acidity. All hand harvested, with minimal intervention in the cellar. Grill is the local native grape Teroldego hand harvested from a near perfectly orientated vineyard at 300m elevation, it is aged for 3 years in barrel and 2 years in bottle before release. Dark ruby colors with notes of rich blackberry and spice.
