Tschida Angerhof
Tschida Angerhof Beerenauslese Chardonnay 2013
$ 26.00
A dessert wine made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the sandy soils near the famed marshy banks of Lake Neusiedersee in Burgenland. Hans Tschida meticulously maintains these vineyards and makes many types of dessert wines. This one is a mere 9.5% alcohol. A lush and clean style of botrytized sweet wine. Hans' wines tend towards purity of fruit and although these have undergone the transformation of botrytis or noble rot, a highly sought after, some would say magical alteration that happens only in the right atmosphere of humidity (think Sauternes), there is the right balance of acidity and silky peachy stone fruit present so as to be transportive and not cloying.
Pair this with cheeses or panna cotta for dessert or sip it alone for a perfect end to a meal.
