The aptly named "vom Stein" vyd (of the rock) produces Umathum's flagship Sankt Laurent. It is biodynamically farmed, hand harvested and aged in small barrels for 18 months. Sankt Laurent is a slow ripening variety so in Pepi Umathum's supremely capable hands it does not exceed 13% alc. but do not mistake elegance for lightness: this wine is highly complex, structured and age worthy. Intense ruby colour, on the nose thymine, orange peel, coffee aromas with white pepper, on the palate wine has raspberry and red cherry flavours with spicy, smooth and long finish.
