The small 4 hectare domaine of Antoine Van Remoortere lies in the small village of Morogues, in the far eastern section of the Loire. A young energetic winemaker who has worked at renowned wineries around the globe, he returned home to his parents estate and began converting the property to organic farming. He only uses native yeast, slow fermentation, impeccably clean fruit and minimal intervention in the cellar. Only a hint of sulfites is added at the very end to stabilize and preserve the beauty of the finished wine. While Antoine has made this wine for multiple vintages we are thrilled to be able to import it for the first time. The 2021 is delightfully silky, ruby fruited Pinot Noir grown on the slopes of Fourchet and Reigny. The south-east facing, cool climate estate vineyard is pure Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soil resulting in bright mineral driven fresh fruited wine full of finesse. Eminently drinkable.
