Organic farming. A blend of old Hungarian clone Welschriesling (majority), Riesling and Chardonnay. All stainless steel. Hand harvested, native yeast, fined with bentonite (clay), unfiltered. Minimal sulfur at bottling. Multi-layered, mineral-driven, fresh acidity and elegant. Straka is a small family winery embracing a philosophy of tradition enhanced by modern techniques, resulting in pure, natural winemaking at their 84 year old family estate. Straka is located in the Eisenberg district of Burgenland. The Eisenberg is a unique geological area where the foothills of the Alps meet the Pannonian lowlands and is comprised of metamorphic, magmatic rock and cristal schist. One of only 3 places in the world with this soil composition. The deep rooted vines naturally show a distinct mineral character and a compelling purity of fruit. A fresh and fruit driven dry aromatic white wine. Lemon drop, white flowers and notes of pear.
