They met at University and became lifelong friends, traveling the world and staying in touch until Mt. Etna called them all home. Recalling their love of the land and reconnecting with the beauty of Mt. Etna, Giacomo, Giordano and Riccardo enlisted the famed Salvo Foti and under his stewardship began Tenute dei Ciclopi. This refined Etna Bianco is 70% Carricante, 15% Minnella Bianca and 15% Catarratto grown in volcanic soil. The grapes undergo whole cluster fermentation and spend a year in tank before being filtered and 6 months in bottle. Wonderful bright acidity at the beginning of the palate opens to notes of citrus, lemon and green mandarin peel, fresh oregano, just picked cucumber off the vine, over a backbone of mineral zest, plums and chamomile.
