Gassner

Gassner Amber Gruner Veltliner 40 Monate 2019

$ 94.00

Gassner is a biodynamic Demeter certified winery in the town of Rust in a 16th century building on the shore of Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland, Austria. Until 2015, Robert and Marianne Gassner only made wine for themselves and family from their 3 hectare parcel of old vines. Since the winery inception everything has been done by hand utilizing biodynamic preparations and an emphasis not only on health but climate awareness. Their fascinating Amber line is an array of Gruner Veltliners that spend varying amounts of time on the lees in clay amphora or large format used Austrian oak barrels. Ferments are always native and there is minimal intervention. Miniscule amounts were made of this mash fermented GV that spent 40 months in old wooden barrels. Sparkling amber, multi-layered fragrance with spicy notes, acacia honey and resin, beeswax, fine tobacco, delicate tannin, elegant bitter tones.
