Since the 2019 vintage Roland Vellich, a master of Blaufrankisch, has bottled small amounts of his sites on the Lutzmannsberg plateau separately, showcasing their unique and distinct terroir. The Kirchberg is surrounded by forests and was planted between 1921 and the 1980s. It is the coolest and steepest slope in Lutzmannsberg with the highest lime and chalk content. The Kirchberg is lithe and fine. Long silky tannins, significant spice and bright blue aromatic fruits. It is a truly Burgundian rendering of Blaufrankisch and one that invites contemplation.
