Clemens Krutzler's rosé comes from pressing whole Blaufränkisch clusters hand-picked from the cool, eastern-facing, single estate vyd of Ratschen, a mix of sand, gravel, loam, and iron deposits. It is fermented spontaneously in used barrels—which makes this a Rose of fantastic depth and texture. Bright and lithe, it shows wild strawberry, citrus peel notes and a fine mineral backbone. Organically farmed as always. This drinks more like a light red than typical rosé—think Cerusolo -- perfect for charcuterie or roasted vegetables.
