This vibrant Federspiel comes from 30 year old vines that grow in crushed Gneiss rocks, directly under the steep Offenberg and Setzberg vineyards. Stainless steel, natural yeasts and 4 months on the lees. An elegant, racy Veltliner with yellow fruit nuances, honey blossom, hints of mango, and the classic white pepper finish.

The Donabaum family estate dates from the 1600s. Historically it was a blend of agricultural enterprises, however, when at the young age of 19, Johann Donabaum began to assist with the winemaking, and after attending enology school in Krems and a stint at F.X. Pichler, he began to make changes. The estate changed to pure viticulture, the attention shifted to quality in the vineyard and minimal intervention in the cellar. Vintage, vineyard and terroir took precedence. What resulted immediately began garnering international acclaim and the quality of the wines is indisputable.
