These basalt soils ripen later than the terraced ground above, holding onto freshness and lift and giving the wine tremendous vibrancy. Spontaneous fermentation in tank keeps it honest and unadorned. This is a wine that is very alive, cool and taut with notes of white pepper, citrus pith and stone. There is a lean mineral edge that feels more like coastal Marin than Central Europe.
