Clos des Mailles is one of Faye d'Anjou's great schist slopes — thin soils, exposed phtanite bedrock, vines ranging from eleven years to nearly a century old. Pierre Menard harvests by hand and ferments across barrels, 20hL foudres, sandstone amphorae, and glass demijohns, letting each vessel speak. The result is bone-dry Chenin with a taut, mineral spine and quiet, unhurried depth. Stone fruit, citrus pith, wet rock. Something to open now but ages extraordinarily well.
