The Straka estate boasts the oldest known Welschriesling vineyard in Burgenland, the Prantner. Greenschist is the soil type and the name given to this terroir driven bottling that honors the 85 year old Hungarian clone Welschriesling and ancient vineyard. A beacon of natural winemaking, Tom Straka farms organically, grapes are hand-harvested and undergo spontaneous fermentation. It is aged in stainless steel before being fined with clay (bentonite) and bottled, unfiltered with minimal sulfur. Fresh acidity. Multi-layered, mineral-driven, delicate nuances of yellow apples and herbs.
